Online Therapy for Anxious, Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ High Achievers in Virginia

Nature in Virginia

It can be hard to find the care you need

Regardless of whether you're flooded with options or struggling to find any, the path to finding a therapist can be difficult. The relationship with your therapist is most important, and it's hard to find someone who gets it and affirms all parts of who you are.

You don't have to mask. You don't have to explain yourself. I'm queer myself, and I understand what it feels like to walk into a room wondering if all of you will be welcomed.

  • Long story short: I had several clients move to Virginia within the same 3 month span. I decided to jump through the hoops to get licensed there so I could continue seeing my clients.

Since I’m licensed there, I decided why not open up my services to the state as a whole?

  • Yes and no.

You’re still receiving online therapy. That doesn’t change.

The big difference is that I may not necessarily take your insurance, because you have to be credentialed state-by-state. Right now I don’t take any insurances in Virginia, even though I take Aetna in California. I’m still in the process of credentialing with Aetna in Virginia.

  • Anytime I contact you, I will list the time we’re meeting/calling/etc in both PST and EST.

I try my best to minimize mistakes with this, as I know navigating time differences can be challenging.

  • No. My fee is still $175 in Virginia. If you need a reduced fee for financial hardship, please ask. I always keep a few reduced fee slots on my caseload and they’re not always taken.

  • My Virginia license number is LMFT #0717002456. My license expires in June 2026. Don’t worry! I’m doing my CEUs to renew it. If you have any questions about being licensed in another state, please ask.

Who I work with in Virginia

My Virginia clients tend to be adults who are high-functioning on the outside and quietly running on empty on the inside. They are often:

Corporate and tech professionals in Northern Virginia, Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax who are good at their jobs, ambitious about their futures, and exhausted by the gap between how capable they appear and how depleted they actually feel.

Graduate and doctoral students at George Mason, Old Dominion, Virginia Tech, UVA, and beyond who are navigating the particular pressures of academic life: the imposter syndrome, the invisible labor, the burnout that builds when passion meets relentless scrutiny, and the quarter-life uncertainty of building an adult life while also trying to finish a degree.

Neurodivergent adults who have spent years masking in high-pressure professional and academic environments and are ready to understand how their brain actually works rather than just push harder.

Siblings of people with disabilities who have been the responsible one in their family for as long as they can remember and have never quite had space for their own experience.

Adults navigating burnout, anxiety, and major life transitions who are done just getting through the week and ready to actually feel better.

What we work on together:

My specialties travel well across state lines. Whether you're in Arlington or Charlottesville, Richmond or Virginia Beach, the work looks the same: direct, warm, practically grounded, and built around who you actually are rather than who you think you should be by now.

I work with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, neurodivergent-affirming therapy, executive functioning challenges, imposter syndrome, quarter-life transitions, and siblings of people with disabilities. I use talk therapy and EMDR, and for those who want it, art and sandtray work as well.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and spiritually inclusive.

How telehealth works.

Online therapy in Virginia works a little bit differently than in-person. Sessions are held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.

A few things to know:

You must be physically located in Virginia at the time of your session. I am licensed in both California and Virginia, which means I can see Virginia clients wherever they are in the state, not just in one city or region.

Evening appointments are available, because I know your schedule doesn't stop at 5pm.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation before we begin so you can make sure we're a good fit before committing to anything.

University of Virginia

Working with Morgan

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in both California and Virginia. My in-person practice is based in Newport Beach, CA, and I see Virginia clients exclusively via telehealth.

I work best with adults who are self-aware, motivated, and ready to do real work. Not the kind of work that means suffering through sessions, but the kind that means actually getting somewhere. My approach is direct and warm, I'll say the honest thing rather than the comfortable one, and I genuinely enjoy working with the kinds of high-achieving, neurodivergent, and quietly exhausted adults that Northern Virginia tends to produce in abundance.

If you're in Virginia and ready to get started, I'd love to connect.

Serving clients via telehealth throughout Virginia including Northern Virginia, Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Charlottesville, and beyond.
