Online Therapy in California
California isn’t as laid back as it looks.
You can burn out here, too.
From the Bay Area to San Diego, California has no shortage of driven, ambitious, capable adults who are quietly exhausted by their own standards. The tech professional in San Francisco who can't turn their brain off after a twelve hour day. The grad student in Los Angeles who is brilliant at their work and convinced they're about to be found out. The young professional in San Diego who has checked every box on the list and still doesn't feel okay. The Sacramento parent who takes care of everyone and has no idea what they actually need.
You don't have to live near a therapist's office to get good care.
Online therapy in California means you can access the right therapist, not just the nearest one.
Why telehealth in California?
California is a big state with a lot of traffic, demand for mental health care, and not always enough therapists who specialize in the specific things you're dealing with.
Telehealth removes the geography from the equation.
No commuting. No parking. No rearranging your whole afternoon. Just a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a therapist who actually specializes in what you're navigating.
I offer evening availability because I know that for a lot of California clients, especially in high-demand professional and academic environments, daytime appointments aren't realistic. Therapy should fit your life, not the other way around.
Who I typically see across California:
My California clients are spread across the state but tend to share a few things in common. They are high-functioning on the outside. They are tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix. And they have usually spent a long time being the capable, responsible one before they finally decide to do something about it.
High achieving professionals and graduate students in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, San Diego, and Orange County who are good at what they do and exhausted by the pressure to stay that way. Whether you're in tech, academia, healthcare, law, or any other high-demand field, if your anxiety looks like productivity, you're in the right place.
Neurodivergent adults across California who are done masking in professional and academic environments and ready to understand how their brain actually works. I work with ADHD, autistic, and AuDHD adults who are often high-achieving, often late-diagnosed, and often carrying a lot of unprocessed history about what it cost them to appear neurotypical for so long.
Burned out adults who have hit the wall and are ready to do more than just recover. Whether the burnout came from work, caregiving, academia, or years of being everything to everyone, we work on understanding how you got here and building something more sustainable on the other side.
Adults navigating quarter-life transitions and adulting anxiety in their 20s and 30s who are in the disorienting middle of building an adult life that actually fits them. Major transitions, identity questions, the persistent feeling of being behind on a timeline nobody actually set.
Siblings of people with disabilities who have spent a lifetime being the responsible one and rarely had space for their own experience. This is one of my most specialized areas of practice and one of the most underserved populations in therapy.
What we work on together:
My specialties are the same whether you're in San Francisco or San Diego, Los Angeles or Orange County. The work is direct, warm, and practically grounded in who you actually are.
I specialize in anxiety, perfectionism and imposter syndrome, burnout recovery, neurodivergent-affirming therapy, executive functioning challenges, quarter-life transitions and adulting anxiety, and therapy for siblings of people with disabilities. I use talk therapy and EMDR, and for those who want it, art and sandtray work as well.
My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and spiritually inclusive.
How online therapy in California works.
Sessions are held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.
You can be at home in Los Angeles, in your car between meetings in San Francisco, or anywhere else in California. Although, to be honest, not many clients like doing therapy in their car.
A few things to know:
You must be physically located in California at the time of your session.
I am licensed in California, which means I can see clients anywhere in the state.
Evening appointments are available for clients whose schedules don't allow for daytime sessions.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation before we begin so you can make sure we're a good fit before committing to anything.
If you are looking for in-person therapy, I see clients in person in Newport Beach, CA. You can find more information about my in-person practice here.
Working with Morgan
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Newport Beach, CA, licensed to practice throughout California and Virginia.
I work with adults across California via telehealth, with a particular focus on high achievers, neurodivergent adults, burned out professionals and graduate students, and siblings of people with disabilities.
My approach is direct and warm. I'll say the honest thing rather than the comfortable one, and I work best with adults who are ready to do real work and actually get somewhere.
If you've been waiting to feel better until things slow down, this is me telling you that things are not going to slow down on their own.
